Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, kurz DMEM, ist ein standardisiertes Zellkulturmedium mit breiter Verwendbarkeit fΓΌr humane und verschiedene tierische Zellen. DMEM ist eine von Renato Dulbecco im Jahr 1959 publizierte modifizierte Variante des Eagle's Minimum Essential Medium (EMEM), welches im Vergleich zu EMEM eine vierfache Konzentration an AminosΓ€uren und Vitaminen enthΓ€lt.cite-ref-1[1] Heutzutage sind zahlreiche Versionen von DMEM mit leicht unterschiedlichen Zusammensetzungen kommerziell erhΓ€ltlich, z. B. mit oder ohne Phenolrot und Glutamin, bzw. niedrigem (1000 mg/L) oder hohem (4500 mg/L) Gehalt an Glucose, welche fΓΌr verschiedenen Zellkultur-Anwendungen optimiert sind.
